Demonstration of the usefulness of rotational measurement for seismic exploration

Context: In partnership with the university of Munich, ETH Zurich and the Swiss National Cooperative for the Disposal of Radioactive Waste (Nagra), an active-source seismic study was carried out using blueSeis systems to investigate the rotational measurements potential for subsurface seismic exploration.

Aim: Demonstrate the potential of rotational measurements for active seismic exploration with applications to optimize seismic-data acquisition, to improve seismic images and to deduce new additional information on the subsurface from the rotational motion measurements.
